Thumbnail Resizer
Resize your image for common YouTube and social media canvas sizes.
About this tool
Thumbnails and cover images often need predictable dimensions. This resizer offers common preset canvases so you can quickly produce a properly sized file from an existing photo. Choose “Fill frame” for an edge-to-edge result, or “Fit entire image” if preserving every part of the image matters more than avoiding empty margins.
Resizing an image does not add detail that was not present in the source. Starting with a sharp, high-resolution picture gives better results, especially when a face or small text needs to be recognizable on a phone screen.
Creator tip: Before publishing, inspect the thumbnail at a small size. Large headings, clear subject separation, and strong visual hierarchy generally make a design easier to understand.
Common questions
Will it stretch my image?
No. It preserves the original image proportions, either cropping edges or adding letterbox space.
Does it keep transparent pixels?
No. Output is JPEG, so any transparent areas will be replaced with the canvas background.
Is this a full design editor?
No. It handles resizing and fitting, not layers, text, or graphic effects.
